Parents,

We’ve made it 4 days and things are going well! Students are working hard as they transition to this new school year. Every week I will send out an email with information on what’s going on in the school and in class. If you have questions or would like clarification, please reply to this email directly.

Last week, in Chinese, we learned how to say, “please, thank you, you are welcome, sorry, and good morning”. Students learned counting to ten in Chinese. We also learned the colors-red, green, blue, yellow, white, and black in Chinese. We will continue learning new things and review what we have learned at school. Housekeeping Items:

We will be holding a parent meeting on Sept. 3^rd at 5:00 pm in the school gym. At this meeting we will discuss homework, and have a short Q&A session.

Math- writing numbers up to 120

Language Arts- “I Spy” reading strategy, using the pictures for clues

Writing- Narrative Stories with at least 2 events

Phonics- Vowels and Consonants, Capital and Lowercase Letters

Chinese- Lesson 1, Hello

Social/Science study- Making new friends in our new classes. School and Classroom Procedures
Spelling Words- I, be, on, go, up, is, we
