Parents,
This week we are collecting coins to help our sister school in Kenya, Africa. If you would like to participate, please send coins with your child this week. (Monday=pennies, Tuesday=nickels, Wednesday=dimes, Thursday=quarters, Friday=dollar or any coin amount)
We would like to welcome Mrs. KennaJean Hamaker to our English classroom. Mrs. Hamaker is a student teacher from UVU. She will graduate in April with a bachelors degree in Elementary Ed. She has 4 children of her own, ranging from 2nd grade to 9th. She will be with us until Thanksgiving break, and then will return to our class for 3 months after Winter Break.
I am in need of some technology help. Our classroom was donated hundreds of books on tape (these are a great tool for our students to use). However, the tapes are very difficult to use for the first graders. I am looking for someone who has the capability to convert these to CDs. If you or someone who know can help me, please let me know.
A note from Mrs. Liston,
Last week, we started Chinese lesson 7 (Where do you live?). It is a hard lesson for most students. Please help your child review lesson 7 by using the online BetterChinese program or the flash cards that you can download and print from the blog.
For math, you can go to the website http://connected.mcgraw-hill.com/connected/login.do to help your child practice problem solving. We are now in chapter 3 and chapter 4 (addition and subtraction strategies to 20).
In social study, we are learning North, East, South, and West in Chinese by singing a song.
If you have lost the username and password for the web sites please let me know.
Thank you for your support.
