October 22-26

We have a fun-packed week ahead of us! Field trip on Tuesday and Fun Run on Wednesday! We would love to see many of you come run/walk with us for the Fun Run. Come Wednesday at 10:00 am and join the fun!

*Reflections contest is due by October 29^th.
*Please send your child dressed for the weather on Tuesday (umbrella), as our field trip is outside.

Chinese -Math- Translating Pattern and Identifying the Pattern Unit
Chinese -Reading- Lesson 4 What is Your Nationality?
Chinese –Writing- Volume 1 workbook A (Page 6-7)
English- Keep up the reading! 20+ minutes every night. Please make sure you are reviewing spelling words at home and finding words with the spelling pattern in reading.

In class, we are learning:

Math-Subtract from 12
Language Arts- What makes a complete sentence, common and proper nouns, “Attacking” an unknown word while reading           
Writing- 3 sentence summary (beginning, middle and end)
Phonics- Short vowel with “ck”
Chinese- I go to Dahua (Alpine) Elementary School. Lesson 5
Social/Science study- Natural Sources and uses of water, sink or float.

Spelling Words:
Blue: (blends with “r”) brown, green, pretty, grab, grin, frog, from, put, she, they
Yellow: (short vowels with “ck”) sick, sock, truck, neck, black, back, come, no so, went (review)
Red: (long “I” with y, igh, ie) by, sky, high, sight, fly, night, light, were, here, or
