A big thank you for Mrs. Hamaker! She is finishing her student teaching in our classroom this week. We wish her luck!

 

I’m excited to tell you about a new instagram profile, made just for our class! I will keep it private, so only parents of the students can see it. I will update it with pictures, videos, book recommendations, etc. Please follow us! @AEChineseImmersion

 

A note from Mrs. Liston,

Dear Parents,

 

This coming week I would like to have the children bring photos or a short 2 minute videos of their pets.  It can be their own pet or a family members pet. We will then have a sharing activity throughout the week.  Please note we do not want them to bring the pets, just a photo or short video please.

 

If they do not have a pet or family pet they can share a photo of their favorite toy if they would like or a photo of something they like.  You can email me the photos or short video to me at hungpeiliston@alpinedistrict.org

Math-Chapter 8 Measurement and Time (3 sheets + 1 sheet of My Schedule)

Chinese- Reviewing lesson 1-16

Reading- Continue reading 20 minutes daily. Find a fun poem, and memorize it with expression.

Math Madness Week- Lots of extra math activities and ideas will be coming home, we encourage your child to participate.

 

 In class this week, we are going to learn:

Math- Chapter 8 Measurement and Time

Chinese- Lesson 17 Lovely pets

Science & Social Study-Economic Choices

Writing- Informative Writing with 3 details and closure

Language Arts- Informational Text (glossary, index, headings, captions, etc.)

Reading-  Inferences (Learning things from the text when it doesn’t come right out and say it. aka: reading between the lines)

Phonics- compound words (continue to review r controlled vowels)

Spelling Words: into, sometime, someone, anyone, anything, something, inside, become, birthday, without
